I’m happy to show and inspire everyone - from beginner to advanced audiophiles how to tune their stereos for better sound quality and thereby find a deeper connection to the music.

Made in Appalachia:

Bathed in overlapping bird and insect sounds in the verdant foothills of the Cherokee National Forest and nearby Great Smokey Mountain National Park, all Blumenstein Audio products are researched, developed, and manufactured in my home based factory on 3 acres in Afton, TN. Production processes take place between three separate buildings to maintain air and light quality. There is ample margin to neighboring houses to allow for high volume testing of the newer types of especially powerful subwoofers and Octopus speakers I’ve developed out here. The property has its own high voltage step down transformer from the power lines providing exceptionally clean 120 Volt AC for every amplifier and source I use to design speakers, subwoofers, and cables (the wall sockets here are well isolated from whatever the neighbors have plugged into the walls of their houses).

Alan Smith: In-person speaker auditioning and service in the Mall district of Tacoma, WA. In order to maximize your potential fun factor of a listening or service appointment, the speaker demonstration space is in the comfy back-room of a world class slot car raceway. Alan actually has toys for all ages - everything from small to large custom built slot car sets and he runs weekly races for the locals, and even an annual 24 hour race that gets international attention.

Audio wise, he currently has a Bottlehead 2 watt per channel tube amplifier, some older Marlins and a small pair of our subs to hear. This system sounds great but it’s out of date from our newest gear so I’m currently working on restocking him with an updated speaker system and some inventory to sell. He also has a small selection of used receivers, turntables and used records for sale in his shop.

Notably, Rapha co-designed the Octopus speakers and tours with two pair of them as well as 4 pcs of our 15” Infrasubs. Power is generated from several thousand watts / rack mount amplifiers using DSP. He does all sorts of live sound with this system - From supporting full bands, to DJing weddings. He also performs with his Blumenstein PA system as Ralph Reign, an underground afro-futurist Hip Hop artist. Book him for a unique experience!
